Trying something new...

This year started off pretty good.  Lee and I decided to get serious about having another baby.  I know, weird that we would make this our New Years goal as a couple.  We just feel that Teaella needs a sibling to teach her things like: patience, love, kindness, and help her develop a nurturing spirit.  Yes, yes, yes,  I am we'll aware that an only child can learn these things as well, but it was my brothers who taught me the most about these things.  Besides, Teaella has been bugging us for months for a baby brother.  So, to continue my story I had every intention of getting into my Ob/gyn to get back on fertility medicine (I have PCOS. Poly cystic ovarian syndrome).  Many people might think It's weird for me to disclose this information but it is what I live with everyday.  God has blessed us with our first child and if I can help another who struggles to conceive then I feel God is using my situation to benefit his plan and purposes.  Well, by mid January it had been 56 days since my last period so I was thinking I might be pregnant, but for those of you who have been trying to conceive there is a real fear of the truth that a pregnancy test might hold.  It is heart wrenching to see a negative show up on one of those tests and all the pain, anger, and sadness rushes back into your body.  Not that your mad at anyone else but your angry that your body can't or won't do what it is supposed to.  So, people might say it is superstitious behavior but I refer to it as cautious behavior because your not only guarding your heart from disappointment but also your spouses.  Any way, I had hinted to Lee that I thought I might be pregnant but we had decided to wait another week just in case my cycle was way off.  However, on January 19th I started to feel as though my cycle might show up and by the time we got home from Lee's parent's house I was in a lot of pain.  I took some Tylenol to ease the pain and eventually it did and early the next morning I had miscarried.  Lee took me to the Emergency Room where his parents met us (I am so grateful for his parents because they never let us go through these painful moments alone).  We had a wonderful doctor and nurse who comforted my husband and I.  They confirmed that I had been pregnant and Lee and I calculated that I was probably about eight weeks along.  Such a different feeling to realize you we're pregnant and exit the hospital with no baby in your arms.  Lee took it very hard expressing his emotion very openly, I on the other hand felt empty and numb.  It was a very hard time for us but I thank Jesus that we had Teaella to come home too.  Without her I don't think my heart could have healed as fast.  For Lee, the pain of that moment seemed to linger and we both felt like we needed some closure so we got an idea from Focus on the Family about having a private ceremony just Lee and I and naming our baby and saying goodbye.  We have selected the name Spencer Swift (because that name could be for a boy or a girl) and we plan on having our little ceremony soon.  I have my good days and my bad days but the fact has never changed that my Lord has been faithful to me and blessed me with two children; one that resides with me here on this world on one that looks over me from the heavens above!

With this experience it has reaffirmed that we DO want more children and God will bless us with more children!  I firmly believe that so please read our blog as we set out on this new Journey and feel free to pray us and all others who are struggling to conceive and let us watch The Lord rain blessings over his children.

Lovingly Yours,
Angie

Happy New!!! Welcome 2012

Well, let me just get this all said... if you believe in the Mayan calendar it is your last year to make change, but what the heck why change for just one year there is NO POINT, your doomed! As for I and my family I am a bible believer and so I don't really believe in all that hoopla. Well that being said we had a wonderful night at my in-laws house. In fact I think Teaella has spent every New Years parting up at Lee's parents. She had a blast! Her and her cousin Meyah dressed up in pretty dresses and danced the night away. We had delicious food and just enjoyed one another's company. Lee and Niki took naps and woke up just in time to toast in the New Year with a little bubbly. Kiesha, Meyah, Teaella, and my mother in-law enjoyed their sparkling cider. The night ended with everyone heading to bed and Teaella passing out on the way home. We each have our own goals for the New Year (of course I made up Teaella's and Lee didn't tell me his, I wonder if that is how he makes sure I can't hold him accountable! :o), so I will post mine and Teaella's
Teaella's: 1. learn to potty in the potty
2. learn her ABC's
3. learn how to pray

Angie's: 1. Read the entire Bible in a Year
2. Make my health a priority
3. Have another Baby!

Well to all of our friends and families both near and far, we pray that you have a wonderful and prosperous year. May God keep you and your families safe and strengthen you during times of trials. We love you all!

Love,
Lee, Angie, and Teaella

Merry Christmas from our Family to Yours!

Teaella in one of her cute Christmas Outfits!
I love everything about Christmas, from the lights, the tree with dropping needles in my living room, present wrapping, and all of the yummy food. Our family is always thinking of how much our Wondrous Lord and Savior has blessed us throughout the year, but it is this season that focuses so much upon the glorious birth and life of our Savior. It seems as though there is this spirit in the air that can penetrate a hardened soul to do good. I really enjoyed this year with Teaella being 2 1/2 and her understanding of Jesus becoming more apparent. She loved going to the nursery at Church and learning about the baby Jesus and singing the songs about our Savior. With all that said she really enjoyed the opening up of gifts but she liked being a helper (one who helps pass out the gifts)more. She enjoyed making sugar cookies and reading Christmas stories, but if I had to pin point the thing she loved the most it would have to have been the lights! She loved that it was her job at home to help turn on the lights on the Christmas tree, the stocking stand, and the outdoor Christmas Tree that ended up staying in our living room! Well we just wanted to share a few pictures of our holiday season and a few recipes that you might enjoy!

Teaella's First Haircut

This past weekend I took Teaella to my friend to get her haircut. I was a little bit nervous about this because Teaella has not been excited about getting her hair washed. I was pleasantly surprised that she did so well. I went before her and she was fascinated that mommy was getting her hair painted and she didn't like it when my hair was getting cut she said my hair was broken. When it was her turn to get her hair cut she hopped right up in the chair and let Marissa cut away and just smiled the whole time at her self in the mirror. She is so funny and makes experiences like this so fun@

We Are So Thankful!!!

I just love the fall and all of the beautiful colors that we see on the tree and how the air turns crisp and clean. This year has been especially fun to see fall through a two year old's eyes. We have had such a wonderful time watching Teaella really truely experience all of the fall festivities from decorating the house for Halloween and fall, to putting up the Christmas lights as a family the purity and innocences is truely something to be thankful for.

Pumpkin Hunting: This year we hit the pumpkin patch early to make sure that it wouldn't be pick over. We went and it was nice evening the air was crisp and it wasn't over crowded at all. Teaella had her first pony ride and she absolutely loved it. She kept petting the horse's mane and telling the pony that she was doing a good job. Teaella, however, was not so fond of the petting zoo and told us that the animal slobber was disgusting. Oh... by the way disgusting and gross are her favorite words right now. From the the petting zoo we headed over to the swing ride for kiddos and the owner of Linder Farms gave her an extra long ride simply because he loved how much she loved it. It was starting to get later so we decided to hop aboard the Hayride and head out in to a pumpkin patch that was quiet and sincere!!! It was so fun to watch Teaella search for her pumpkin, she would pick one up and then drop it when she found a different one, finally she spotted a pumpkin on the ground and decided that it was the most perfect one and in fact it was!!!

Trick or Treating: Trick or treating was so fun this year it was so fun to see her going up to the door with her cousins and holding out her little pumpkin and picking out her candy and dropping it in her bucket. She must not be a fan of M&M's because every time someone tried to give her a package of M&M's she would say: "I no like these!" and hand them back to the person at the door. She also demonstrated her independence while Trick or Treating because she would become quite agitated when someone would put the candy in her bucket she wanted to put it in her bucket herself. Over all it was a great night and it ended with her sleeping in her costume because she wasn't done being a being a princess yet.

Caldwell Christmas Tree Lighting: We are so very grateful to live in a small community that still sees Christmas as a magical time for the little ones and promotes peace and goodwill among the community. It was just last year that Lee, I, and Teaella stumbled upon this event and have now put it in our must do for all of our future Christmas activities. This year was especially special because she is so aware of what is going on around her and the lights this year have become quite the hit!!! From the roasted chestnuts to the carols singing by Indian Creek it was a wonderful evening and the look on Teaella's face when the lights went on was well worth braving the winter chill! Her and her daddy had a wonderful time checking out all of the lights as we wondered along the green belt and she cried when we finally called it a night. We have been by a couple of times since then and her response is always excitement as she sees the lights. Bravo Caldwell on making the beginning of our holiday exciting and enjoyable!
