Merry Christmas from our Family to Yours!

Teaella in one of her cute Christmas Outfits!
I love everything about Christmas, from the lights, the tree with dropping needles in my living room, present wrapping, and all of the yummy food. Our family is always thinking of how much our Wondrous Lord and Savior has blessed us throughout the year, but it is this season that focuses so much upon the glorious birth and life of our Savior. It seems as though there is this spirit in the air that can penetrate a hardened soul to do good. I really enjoyed this year with Teaella being 2 1/2 and her understanding of Jesus becoming more apparent. She loved going to the nursery at Church and learning about the baby Jesus and singing the songs about our Savior. With all that said she really enjoyed the opening up of gifts but she liked being a helper (one who helps pass out the gifts)more. She enjoyed making sugar cookies and reading Christmas stories, but if I had to pin point the thing she loved the most it would have to have been the lights! She loved that it was her job at home to help turn on the lights on the Christmas tree, the stocking stand, and the outdoor Christmas Tree that ended up staying in our living room! Well we just wanted to share a few pictures of our holiday season and a few recipes that you might enjoy!

Teaella's First Haircut

This past weekend I took Teaella to my friend to get her haircut. I was a little bit nervous about this because Teaella has not been excited about getting her hair washed. I was pleasantly surprised that she did so well. I went before her and she was fascinated that mommy was getting her hair painted and she didn't like it when my hair was getting cut she said my hair was broken. When it was her turn to get her hair cut she hopped right up in the chair and let Marissa cut away and just smiled the whole time at her self in the mirror. She is so funny and makes experiences like this so fun@

We Are So Thankful!!!

I just love the fall and all of the beautiful colors that we see on the tree and how the air turns crisp and clean. This year has been especially fun to see fall through a two year old's eyes. We have had such a wonderful time watching Teaella really truely experience all of the fall festivities from decorating the house for Halloween and fall, to putting up the Christmas lights as a family the purity and innocences is truely something to be thankful for.

Pumpkin Hunting: This year we hit the pumpkin patch early to make sure that it wouldn't be pick over. We went and it was nice evening the air was crisp and it wasn't over crowded at all. Teaella had her first pony ride and she absolutely loved it. She kept petting the horse's mane and telling the pony that she was doing a good job. Teaella, however, was not so fond of the petting zoo and told us that the animal slobber was disgusting. Oh... by the way disgusting and gross are her favorite words right now. From the the petting zoo we headed over to the swing ride for kiddos and the owner of Linder Farms gave her an extra long ride simply because he loved how much she loved it. It was starting to get later so we decided to hop aboard the Hayride and head out in to a pumpkin patch that was quiet and sincere!!! It was so fun to watch Teaella search for her pumpkin, she would pick one up and then drop it when she found a different one, finally she spotted a pumpkin on the ground and decided that it was the most perfect one and in fact it was!!!

Trick or Treating: Trick or treating was so fun this year it was so fun to see her going up to the door with her cousins and holding out her little pumpkin and picking out her candy and dropping it in her bucket. She must not be a fan of M&M's because every time someone tried to give her a package of M&M's she would say: "I no like these!" and hand them back to the person at the door. She also demonstrated her independence while Trick or Treating because she would become quite agitated when someone would put the candy in her bucket she wanted to put it in her bucket herself. Over all it was a great night and it ended with her sleeping in her costume because she wasn't done being a being a princess yet.

Caldwell Christmas Tree Lighting: We are so very grateful to live in a small community that still sees Christmas as a magical time for the little ones and promotes peace and goodwill among the community. It was just last year that Lee, I, and Teaella stumbled upon this event and have now put it in our must do for all of our future Christmas activities. This year was especially special because she is so aware of what is going on around her and the lights this year have become quite the hit!!! From the roasted chestnuts to the carols singing by Indian Creek it was a wonderful evening and the look on Teaella's face when the lights went on was well worth braving the winter chill! Her and her daddy had a wonderful time checking out all of the lights as we wondered along the green belt and she cried when we finally called it a night. We have been by a couple of times since then and her response is always excitement as she sees the lights. Bravo Caldwell on making the beginning of our holiday exciting and enjoyable!

It is purely the simple things in life that can lighten one's day. It was so cute tonight I had to go to Walmart to get a few items for Teaella. She so wanted to take her dolly and her baby stroller in with us. I was a little hesitant but I decided with the rain outside it wouldn't hurt. I was right. She had a ball pushing her baby around and she kept yelling, "This is fun, This is fun mommy!" She not only made my day but she sure brought a smile to many tired faces tonight. I just thought it was so cute I had to video it. I hope you all enjoy this and remember those words of that famous song..."Let them be little!"

Wow! She is two!

I can't believe that Teaella is two!!! So many things have happened over the last year and a half but the most rewarding thing is that Teaella is growing up and amazes everyday. She talks a mile a minute (she must get that from her mommy.) her daddy is is so proud of her. Just yesterday we were laying on the bed and she was sing a us a song to make sure that we were getting ready for the holidays. "Dingle Bells" (her version of Jingle bells). It was so funny to us that she knows that song seeing that Lee and I haven't really talked a whole lot about Christmas or Christmas traditions to her. We decided it would be interesting to to see what she already knows. Amazingly she knows a whole lot (Santa, presents, and Christmas trees). Again she is so amazingly fun!
