Lee and I met or should I say were introduced to one another through my cousin Julie. Julie had tried to get us to meet but because of my religious affiliations Lee thought it best not to be mixing the yolk. However, my cousin is very skillful in the art of match making. She invited me along to visit a SICK friend, and now almost nine years later here we are. Although it was a rocky beginning I would have to say the last 5 years have been wonderful. We were married on August 5th, 2006. We had a great life but desired to have a family. WE tried for a year and a half on our own but we could tell something was wrong. We decided to seek medical intervention. We met with Dr. Lowder and we were told that I had poly cystic ovarian disease (basically I have small cysts around my ovaries which causes me not to ovulate every month). The Dr. seemed positive and we started treatment with Metformin and clomid, six months later no success. Let me tell you there is nothing worse than hoping for something and then being disappointed each month. After the last treatment and through a lot of prayer we decided to take some time off before we met with another Dr. We went about our daily lives enjoying being together and grateful for what we had, but continued to pray for the ultimate desire of our hearts (A baby). In October of that year I fell extremely ill with a horrible flu, but this flu seemed to last forever. When my cycle didn't come in November I didn't give it a second thought, I had always been irregular and knew it would probably start soon. When my cycle didn't come in December I began to wonder. I had never skipped two months before. I so wanted to take that pregnancy test, but I had seen a negative so many times that I just didn't know if I could do it again. Lee and I decided to get through the holidays and then test after Christmas. Two days after Christmas I got up at 5:30 am and took a pregnancy test. I WAS SO SHOCKED! It finally said Pregnant! I tried calling Lee but his phone was busy and I just had to tell someone so badly, so I called my mom! In the middle of my call with my mom Lee called. I told him he was going to be a daddy, he cried and was so excited! Through this wonderful event in our lives we learned that miracles occur in our daily life all of the time and it is recognizing them that is the most important. God is so faithful through constant prayer and faith! Teaella Grace Swift was born on August 13th, 2009 at 4:39pm. She was a healthy 7 lbs. 14 oz. and was 21 1/2 in. long.
